Demi Akin Abuja Blogger-1

Wow… It’s been a minute since I’ve been here… My last post was published on the 26th of September, 2018 and that’s exactly 97 days ago.

In those 97 days I tried to get back to it and every-time I thought of it, I felt I wasn’t ready and need more time. To be honest, the break was caused by a combination of so many things. I got very busy after taking on a job that required me to work 6 days a week (still in the same job); my financial status at the time was not convenient enough to sustain a ‘hobby’ such as blogging (simply put, I was too broke to blog 😅). I also got bored of the of content I was putting out and felt I needed a new direction. So when I had some what figured out how to cope with my new work schedule and running my blog, when I had sorted out my finances with proper planning, I still felt unready to get back to blogging because my direction and my aim for blogging still wasn’t certain (oh yeah, add to that the little insecurities that came with having short hair – gist for another day though).

It wasn’t until I got a few interesting messages from some of you on Instagram that I figured it all out! It became a bit more clear what I needed to use this platform I’ve built for. Sadly (for you though #lol), I’m not going to say exactly what my new direction is as I’ll love you to see it unfold in its entirety over the next few months!

Now I know some of you will be wondering if this new direction means no DIY content – True or True? #haha- Be not afraid! The DIY content will still exist but I’m not sure exactly when that will kick off again. I’m still trying to figure out how to merge that aspect of my blog with my new life; but I promise you, I’ll try my best to make sure it doesn’t take too long before the DIY videos start rolling out again.

Oh yes, please expect a little inconsistency as I try to get myself back into the game… It’s not always that easy to get back into anything especially when you’ve been out of it for so long; but one thing is for sure – I promise you I’ll try all I can to stay consistent on here!

So yes, that’s it, that’s me, that’s DemiAkin.com coming back to life and to celebrate, I’m inviting you to my first ever blog event right here in Abuja! – ‘DA PICNIC!

It’s an event open to everyone (not just bloggers) as I’ll really love to meet and get to connect with you guys offline! The event will be a picnic full of fun, games, music and you just might meet some of your other favourite Abuja bloggers there! Asides from all the fun stuff, there’ll be a little chit chat about Social Media and Human Interaction. Myself and a panel of 2 of my favourite girls, Bella and Dee will be anchoring the chit chat and trying to figure out if Social Media has in fact made us more antisocial.

The date for the event is Saturday the 19th of January, 2019 and it’ll start at 3pm PROMPT! Entry is free but you’ll have to register to attend as there are only 30 slots available! Click here (NO MORE SLOTS AVAILABLE) to register and more details will be sent to you subsequently. I hope to see you there!

With all my love…
