Beauty || How to pack for Holiday – Beauty Essentials!

Planning a holiday can sometimes be stressful, but for me, the most stressful part of it all is packing my beauty products. This is a big problem for me because I usually use only my hand luggage allowance especially for short stay holidays. This means I’m restricted to just one 20cm x 20cm plastic bag to fit all my beauty products – my facial products, my body products, my makeup, sunscreen, etcetera, etcetera.

So… how do you pack allllll these products and still comply with all the airline restrictions? Here are my 3 Top tips and tricks!

Travel size products

A bit obvious yes? but this is and should be your first point of call when thinking of packing beauty products. There are so many major products that come in a travel size containers and you’ll be surprised at what you can find when you have a look!

However, when buying travel size products try as much as possible to look go for products that you would use on a normal day. This is because if you go for brands that you don’t normally use, once your holiday is over you are likely to end up with loads of mini products which you won’t use again and that’s just a waste of money! #lol. Search for mini versions of products you currently use – your current face wash, your body spray, your body cream and if you can’t find any then the try my next tip!

“Make” your own Travel size products

In all honesty – this is usually the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of packing my beauty supplies. However, I use this mainly for products that I use a lot of on a daily basis such as my shower gel and body lotion. This is because the travel size options that I find are usually not enough to last the whole holiday or come in containers that are very robust and won’t fit easily in small corners and this is also another very important point and I’ll be discussing next!

This is also great and a great money-saving tip for products that you stock in ‘bulk’ (Larger quantities than normal). I get my containers, a pack of 5, from the pound store and they can be reused which is great if you travel a lot – you can keep using them and for different products too!

Choose the Right Container shape!

As I stated earlier, because all my products have to fit in a 20cm x 20cm plastic bag, it is also very  think of how I’ll arrange the products in this bag! So what I usually do it go for flat sachet travel size products, thin tube products or products that have a normal basic shape like a cube, cuboid, cylinder and the likes. This is because, when it comes to arranging them in the plastic bag, if the various products I have are in simple shaped containers, they are more likely to fit close to each other which means I can arrange them closer to each other and fit as much as I can into the plastic bag. Avoid fancy packaging as there is a higher chance that these wont fit nicely in the bag!

So those are my three top tips and with that said… Have a fabulous holiday!

Hope this helps!
