Green Tea Face Mask

A lot of people drink green tea these days but did you know that green tea is not only good for your internal system but also a great skin care ingredient? The first time I used green tea as a face mask was on a random evening when I thought to myself green tea surely should be good for skin as well – and so after having my evening cup of green tea, I ripped up the tea bag, mixed the leaves with some honey and smothered it all over my face! By morning, I was loving the way my skin felt and looked! Now this quick recipe has become a skincare staple for me and I’ve added it to my list of Homemade skin care recipes. If you’d like to try it out yourself, here’s a more refined description of how to make this face mask!

Good to know (Extract from the internet) : “Green tea contains catechins, which are anti-bacterial agents that suppress acne-causing bacteria and help regulate hormonal imbalances. It also possesses potent anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce the redness and inflammation brought about by zits, thereby helping them heal sans the scars”

1 Table spoon of honey
1 Green tea bag
1 Table-spoon of Lemon
Mixing bowl

Green Tea Face Mask

1- (optional) Start off my steaming your face to open up your pores or by using a hot face cloth/towel (Place your face cloth in some hot water, squeeze out the water and then place it on your face!)
2- Open up your tea bag and place the leaves in your mixing bowl. Then add the honey and mix it all together
3- Smooth on the face mask all over your face avoiding your eyes and lips! Leave on for as long as you like but at least 30 minutes
4- Rinse off with some warm water and have a final rinse with cold water.
5 – Pat your face dry and moisturize your skin with your favorite moisturizer – I use L’Avyanna Vitamin C Face Cream! ^_^
I’ve used this recipe about 3 times now and I absolutely love the results whenever I use it. I usually use all my face-mask treatments at night and whenever I use this one, my face feels so soft the next morning and any pimples that may be coming up suddenly disappear. Off course this may vary from person to person but it is definitely worth a try!
Hope this helps!
